26 Steps to More Energy and Less Stress


Staying energized and eliminating unnecessarystress from our lives is great, but being energized does not necessarilymean we're balanced. In other words we can be bursting with energy andstill be headed toward burnout if we are allow ourselves to get out ofbalance.
  1. Learn to relax without feeling guilty.
  2. Take a hot bath before bedtime.
  3. Take a warm shower every morning.
  4. Get a massage once a month.
  5. Exercise three to five times a week for 20 to 30 minutes. Work yourself into a sweat. Fitness reduces stress.
  6. Don't sweat the small stuff. Keep things in perspective.
  7. Take regular vacations.
  8. Go to church with your family every week.
  9. Help those less fortunate.
  10. Drink plenty of water and less caffeine. Don't drink with your meals. Let your saliva do its job.
  11. Eat right. More carbohydrates and less fats. Lots of fruits and vegetables.
  12. Be grateful. Count your blessings every day.
  13. Be enthusiastic!
  14. Forgive others to the degree you wish to have forgiveness. Grudges aretoo heavy to be carried around.
  15. Spend time in solitude every day. Meditate and pray.
  16. Take time to laugh. Lighten up. Humor heals.
  17. When you begin to worry about a situation, think of the worst thing thatcould happen and say, "so what?"
  18. Get to bed earlier if you're not getting enough sleep. Most people sleepa half-hour too long every morning. Arise early.
  19. Think positive and be optimistic. Expect the best.
  20. Recharge your batteries. Have fun. Get yourself a hobby. Write this as"me time" on your calendar.
  21. Set balanced personal goals that make you reach, but not for the stars.
  22. Be sure you are following the right road map.
  23. Get organized. Develop better time management habits.
  24. Learn to say "NO" with a smile. Don't commit to too many things.
  25. Spend lots of quality time with those you love. After you're dead, theywon't care how much time you spent at the office.
  26. Simplify your life.
